The Injectables Guide

Injectable treatments are a non-invasive method to achieve a more youthful and refreshed appearance. While some people may assume that all injectables provide similar benefits, there are many different types of injectables that work in unique ways to address specific concerns.

At T/A, we offer a variety of injectable treatments to target each of your unique needs:

Botox

Botox has been used for decades to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It works by temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles to form, giving the skin a smoother, more youthful appearance. Botox can be used to treat pre-existing wrinkles or for wrinkle prevention.

Botox is mainly used to treat dynamic wrinkles, which are caused by repeated muscle movements. These types of wrinkles include the following:

Forehead lines: horizontal wrinkles on the forehead when you raise your eyebrows

"Elevens" (AKA "frown lines" ): vertical lines between the eyebrows when you furrow or concentrate

Crow's feet: fine lines around the outer corners of the eyes when you smile or squint

Bunny lines: horizontal lines on the bridge of the nose when you scrunch your nose

It's important to note that Botox is not effective for treating static wrinkles, which are caused by a loss of volume or elasticity in the skin. Static wrinkles may be better treated with dermal fillers or other injectable treatments. More on that below.

Botox is injected into the treatment area using a fine needle. The number of units required will depend on the treated area and the severity of the wrinkles or fine lines. At T/A, Botox treatments take just a few minutes to complete and do not require any downtime! Results can last three to six months, depending on the treated area.

Dermal Fillers

Unlike Botox, which reduces muscle movement, dermal fillers are designed to add volume and plumpness to the skin. They are often used to fill in static wrinkles and fine lines and enhance the shape of the lips and cheeks. The most popular dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which is a critical agent in boosting the skin's volume and structure. Fillers are often used to treat the following:

  • Lift jowls and sagginess around the jawline
  • Plump lips
  • Fill under-eye hollows
  • Soften nasolabial folds and other static wrinkles
  • Contour the chin
  • Soften and smooth visible veins on hands

Like Botox, dermal fillers are injected into the skin using a fine needle. Filler is injected after the skin is topically numbed. The filler also contains lidocaine, which makes the treatment more comfortable. The amount of filler required will depend on your unique aesthetic goals. Treatment typically takes anywhere from twenty minutes up to an hour. Results can last anywhere from six months to a year, depending on the treated area.

Belkyra

Belkyra is an injectable treatment that is designed to reduce the appearance of a double chin. It works by metabolizing fatty tissue in the targeted area and provides for a defined slimmer jawline. Belkyra is typically administered through a series of injections, often delivered in a grid pattern into the chin area, with most patients requiring two to four treatments for optimal results. Belkyra injections typically take 15-20 minutes to complete, and the great news is that once you reach your aesthetic goals, the results are virtually permanent!

Exosome Therapy

Exosome therapy is a newer type of injectable treatment that uses nano-particles, called exosomes, to promote skin regeneration. Exosomes are derived from stem cells and contain all the good stuff: amino acids, proteins, peptides, coenzymes, minerals, growth factors, and genetic material. These powerhouse cells stimulate collagen and elastin production to improve the skin's appearance.

Exosome therapy helps your skin heal on its own. At T/A, this treatment entails the topical application of a gel-based formula to the treatment area. The gel-based formula contains over 2.5 billion exosomes to address fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scarring. Exosome therapy is often done in conjunction with other treatments, such as laser therapy, to ensure penetration of exosomes into the skin. Our experts will use topical numbing cream, if needed, to ensure your comfort throughout the treatment. Treatment takes anywhere from 15-45 minutes, depending on the area being treated, and patients typically see results within four to six weeks!

Vampire Facelift

The vampire facelift (or platelet-rich plasma "PRP" treatment) is a procedure that involves injecting the patient's own blood back into their skin to activate a more even skin tone and radiant complexion. At T/A, our experts will perform a simple blood draw to extract nutrient-rich ingredients from your blood sample. We will then use a centrifuge to separate the plasma, which stimulates collagen formation. A fine needle injects this concentrated plasma into the skin or scalp. Not only does PRP treatment improve skin tone and texture, but it is also a great hair-loss restoration treatment! More on that below. Results from the vampire facelift can be seen within two to three months, and patients will need three to six sessions in total. This treatment typically takes 45 to 60 minutes to complete.

Restylane Skinboosters

Unlike other dermal fillers that assist with volume and reshaping, Restylane Skinboosters are injectables that contain anti-aging agents to stimulate your skin's collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Skinboosters are known for enhancing the skin's hydration and elasticity and are most frequently used in the following areas:

  • Fine lines around the lips, eyes, and brow
  • Backs of hands
  • Thinning skin on the chest
  • Neck, chin, and jawline
Like dermal fillers and Botox, Restylane Skinboosters are administered using a fine needle, and treatment requires minimal to no downtime. Our staff also have numbing cream on hand for patients with extra sensitivities. Treatment time takes from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the area being treated, results can be seen immediately!

Sculptra Facelift and Nonsurgical Buttlift

Sculptra is an injectable biostimulant designed to stimulate collagen production and improve the skin's elasticity. It is made from poly-L-lactic acid, which stimulates your body's natural collagen production over time. Most patients require two to three sessions of Sculptra, and results can last for up to three years. The extra boost of collagen leaves your skin looking youthful, revitalized, and lifted, all using your body's own resources.

One of the fantastic things about Scultpra is its versatility. Sculptra can also be used on the buttocks area to achieve a butt lift – no squats and deadlifts required! The Sculptra butt lift adds volume and lift to the buttocks area. Like the Sculptra facelift, it stimulates collagen production in the treated area, resulting in a fuller, more lifted derriere.

Like a dermal filler, a topical numbing cream is applied to the targeted area before Sculptra is injected into the skin. The entire session takes about 30 to 60 minutes, with no downtime.

Hair Restoration Injectables

Hair restoration injectables are designed to stimulate hair growth and improve the health of existing hair. In addition, they can be used to treat a variety of conditions that cause hair loss, including male and female pattern baldness, alopecia, and telogen effluvium. At T/A, we offer exosome therapy and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair restoration.

Exosome therapy uses nanoparticles contained in hair cells to promote healthy hair growth and pigment. Our exosome hair restoration uses an injectable that contains the concentrated power of over five billion exosomes. When injected into the scalp, it penetrates the hair follicles and regenerates hair. This treatment does not involve any downtime, and results can be seen within six to twelve months.

Body Sculpting

T/A is proud to offer fat dissolving injection treatments, which targets stubborn pockets of fat. These injectables are a minimally invasive procedure that reduces stubborn fat deposits and is excellent for targeting smaller areas of fat that are hard to isolate through exercise (e.g., chin, abdomen, thighs, midsection, armpit fat, etc.). These injections contain deoxycholic acid, which permanently destroys fat cells within a few weeks! Treatment takes about 15 – 45 minutes, and our nurse injectors use topical numbing cream to make the process as comfortable as you'd like.

O-Shot

The O-Shot (short for "orgasm shot") is an injection that uses PRP technology (AKA, your own blood plasma!) to restore vaginal tightness, alleviate dryness, and enhance sexual pleasure. The concentrated blood plasma is injected into the vaginal and clitoral area to promote new cell growth. The O-Shot is a painless procedure and is administered after a topical numbing cream is applied to the injection site.

The O-Shot takes about 20 minutes, requiring virtually no downtime, and offers results that last about a year.
