Vaginal Weakness and the O-Shot

Pregnancy, childbirth, aging, menopause; women’s bodies journey through many phases of life. It’s important to talk about maintaining vaginal wellness and strength as our bodies experience these changing phases of life. T/A is here to make those conversations easier, and to offer treatments that can help you with getting your groove back.

During pregnancy, the constant stress on the pelvic muscles can lead to changes in the vaginal area. It is quite common for women to experience pelvic weakness post-partum, because of pelvic floor muscles that have stretched or torn over pregnancy and birth. Women commonly report urinary incontinence (usually while sneezing or coughing), a heavy feeling in the vagina, and diminished sexual pleasure, as a result of weakened pelvic floor muscles.

Post-partum and menopausal hormonal fluctuations are another culprit when it comes to changes in vaginal wellness. Diminished estrogen levels after giving birth or during menopause often result in vaginal dryness, making sex uncomfortable, or sometimes even painful. It’s no doubt that vaginal dryness and discomfort during sex will reduce a woman’s ability to experience orgasms, even if aroused.

These changes can significantly affect our quality of life, take away from previously enjoyable intimacy with ourselves or our partners, and negatively affect our sense of self-confidence.

Some of these vaginal changes can be addressed at home. For example, Kegels, or other pelvic floor exercises, may gradually rebuild some of the muscle strength lost over the course of pregnancy and birth. Taking supplemental nutrients might help with revitalizing estrogen levels post-partum or during menopause. Other treatment methods will require expert consultation. For instance, seeking advice from your family doctor will help you curate a long-term medical plan. Here at T/A, our expert team understands the frustrations that these changes can cause, and we are proud to offer a non-surgical option to our clients who are looking to rejuvenate their vaginal wellness after life’s changes: the O-Shot.

The O-Shot, also known as the “Orgasm Shot,” is an all-natural procedure that uses the patient's own blood plasma to promote healing and stimulation in the vaginal area. The treatment involves drawing a small amount of blood from the patient, separating out the platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and injecting the PRP into the targeted vaginal area – usually, the clitoris, vaginal wall, and G-spot. Don’t worry - before any injecting takes place, a topical numbing cream is first applied to the target area to ensure comfort throughout the process.

Our expert team at T/A is here for you and your wellness through all of life’s journeys. We’re happy to consult with you about your concerns, and recommend treatments that will help you feel like your confident, beautiful, self. Contact T/A to learn more about the O-Shot, and other vaginal rejuvenation treatments that may be right for you.
